A lot of fans have expressed interest in learning more about what sorts of food the Frey Bird intakes. They are interested in knowing the diet secrets that help me look so good and train so well.

Well - here is one of my secret recipes, revealed!

When involved in long training, it is important to ingest atleast 1g carbohydrate per kilogram of bodyweight per hour. For me, that works out to about 100g per hour, or roughly 400cal carbohydrate per hour. For someone who does 5, 6, 7 hour bike rides, that works out to a lot of food.
A commercially available carbohydrate gel sells for about $1.50 and provides about 100cal carbohydrate. Needless to say, I would go bankrupt quick on a training diet of commercial gels.

Here's my cheap gel recipe - which tastes nearly as bad as you would guess.

-6 Tablespoons of Honey"
-1 Tablespoon of Blackstrap Molasses"
- 20 grams of whey Protein Isolate"
-1000mg salt
-1-3 Tablespoons of water

Mix everything together in a cup, add water as needed to develop a nice ‘goopable' consistency. It should make enough to fill a 5 serving GU flask. The picture you see at the top is a GU flask.
That's it. You want to train and look like a professional athlete? Get ready to suck down that honey goop.
